Brandon Mullins Award

The Owensboro Ice Foundation provides a Memorial Scholarship in Memory of SPC Mullins who played for the Owensboro Hockey League throughout his high school career. Private donations will provide $1000 annually to be awarded in three scholarships: one $500 and two $250 scholarships based on outstanding leadership and sportsmanship.

Award Recipients receive an award as listed above to help with fees for the upcoming season, a patch for their hockey jersey and recognition on the Brandon Mullins Memorial Plaque.

The 2018/2019 recipients are:

Xander Brubaker

Hayden Hill

Layton Pulliam

SPC Mullins was killed on August 25, 2011 in Afghanistan while serving Operation Enduring Freedom when his unit was attacked by an IED.

Please talk with your child about the sacrifice Brandon made for his country and how this award keeps his memory alive. Our youth players should understand that to be nominated for this award, they should consistently throughout the season display leadership, good sportsmanship, teamwork, and always be respectful to other players, coaches, and officials.

Thank you to the Mullins family for your sacrifice and continuing support to OYHA.
